Turn on Liquid Muze Previews to Power Online Music Purchasing

NEW YORK -- November 15, 1999 -- Liquid Audio, Inc. (Nasdaq: LQID) and Muze, the leading provider of digital information about music, books and video powering the majority of major online and in-store music retailers, today announced the integration of Liquid™ Muze Previews into 30 leading e-commerce facilitators and providers, including Yahoo!® Shopping and Deja.com.

Introduced in June, Liquid Muze Previews streaming preview service makes it easier for consumers to shop for music online by providing digital samples of each song on a CD offered for sale. The service combines Muze's substantial database of artist biographies, album reviews and discographies with Liquid Audio's digital music distribution services to provide music retailers and consumer buying resources with a comprehensive library of over 1 million music clips they can offer to online shoppers. Liquid Muze Previews streams free audio samples in CD-quality sound through the freely downloadable Liquid™ Player software.

"The addition of Liquid Muze Previews to Yahoo! Shopping helps users make informed choices about what music they want to buy, while making their online music experience more fun and entertaining," said John Briggs, director of commerce, Yahoo! Inc. "As a charter member of Yahoo! Music, Muze has helped Yahoo! provide users with compelling artist content since the property's launch, while Liquid Audio, an original member of Yahoo! Digital, has brought users thousands of online music files through its secure audio format."
Deja.com, a leading Web site dedicated to helping consumers make informed buying decisions, will be integrating Liquid Muze Previews streaming preview service and Muze's specifications data into their popular Arts & Entertainment channel early next year.

"Incorporating Muze's product offerings into Deja.com's Arts & Entertainment channel really amplifies our value to consumers," said David Wilson, senior vice president, products of Deja.com. "By infusing our product ratings and reviews with decision-making tools like Liquid Muze Previews, we enable consumers to see what others like and then check it out for themselves to make the best possible decision before they buy a music selection."

"Liquid Muze Previews in combination with our data products can have a phenomenal impact on sales and the consumer experience. Liquid Muze Previews is just another addition to our suite of comprehensive data offerings designed to drive commerce and keep people on sites longer. We help web sites grow their business while encouraging repeat buying behavior and establishing customer loyalty," said Anthony Laudico, chief executive officer of Muze.

"Liquid Muze Previews service lets retailers enhance their online CD sales by offering the same free music sampling experience in their click-and-order stores that they offer in their brick-and-mortar stores," said Charly Prevost, vice president of retail marketing and promotion at Liquid Audio, Inc. "Fans can use the freely-downloadable Liquid Player software to access sound samples with the powerful graphics and high quality sound they would enjoy in the store, right from their personal computers."
